The NODI Flip is a device designed specifically for kids ages 5-12.
It's not a smartphone or tablet - it's a safe, simple alternative that lets kids:
Listen to music and audiobooks (via Spotify Connect streaming and our own NODI library with offline content)
Send and receive voice messages to other kids with a NODI Flip or adults using the NODI Parent App (iOS/Android)
Use offline thanks to built-in storage (16GB) for audiobooks and learning content from the NODI Library
Two versions available:
WiFi version (like a tablet, works at home or via hotspot, with offline content available anywhere)
WiFi + LTE version (like a smartphone, with built-in eSIM/nano-SIM slot for messaging and Spotify streaming on the go)
No browser, no videos, no endless scrolling... Just audio content, voice messages, curiosity, and peace of mind.
The Flip works with any Spotify account - Free, Family, or Premium. For a completely ad-free experience, we recommend Spotify Premium.
Here's how to add content:
Open the NODI Parent App on your phone whilst the Flip and phone are on the same WiFi network
Browse our curated library or select any playlists, albums, or podcasts directly from the Spotify app.
Tap '+' in the NODI Parent App - done!
Your child can now play the content on the Flip.
We currently support Spotify because it offers the best library of kids' content. We're exploring additional streaming services for the future, but can't make any promises at this time.
Voice messages don't use traditional phone numbers or messengers — they're exchanged directly between Flip devices and the NODI App (available for iOS and Android).
In the Parent App, you manage contacts and decide who your child can communicate with.
Your child can send and receive voice messages from anyone who has a NODI Flip or the NODI App installed — as long as you've given them permission.
Initial setup requires a WiFi connection. Voice messages and Spotify streaming also need internet (WiFi or LTE). However, all other content — license-free audiobooks, stories, and learning content — can be listened to offline after downloading
The LTE version has a built-in eSIM and a nano-SIM slot. You can either activate the eSIM with our affordable data plan directly in the app, or use a SIM card from a network provider of your choice.
Absolutely! In addition to the built-in speaker, the Flip connects to headphones via Bluetooth or USB-C.
Data privacy is our top priority. The Flip uses encrypted connections and complies with current GDPR and cybersecurity regulations. Only parent-approved contacts and audio content are accessible, and parents have full control at all times.
The Flip itself focuses on what matters most: screen-free entertainment, communication, and learning. For parents who want location tracking, we're offering an optional tracking accessory that works with Apple's Find My network — so you can locate the Flip anytime. An Android-compatible version is also in development.
